How to find the personal trainer for you
Your personal trainer is there to help you reach your goals. Your trainer is a person you may meet with once a month or once a day. When going to a consultation with a trainer or to meet yours for the first time, be yourself! You want a trainer that pushes you to be your best, but you also want someone you can see yourself getting along with.
Have some goals in mind
If you're thinking about getting a personal trainer, brainstorm some goals you may have for beginning a program. Want to improve your form? Rehabilitate an injury? Do you have any weight-related goals? These goals don't need to be specific, but it's a good idea to have something in mind. Your trainer should be able to understand your goals and help you refine them to make them achievable.
Don't be afraid to ask
When looking for trainers, don't be afraid to ask the trainer if they have experience in certain fields. Are you looking to gain strength after having a baby? Ask your trainer if they have experience with postpartum mothers. Not sure where to start after having a knee replacement? Ask the trainer if they know about the exercise recommendations for joint replacements. A good trainer will be honest with you about their comfort level working with these types of situations. You need to feel comfortable that your trainer knows what they are doing when working with you!
Try them out
Ageless Fitness recommends at least one personal training session with your trainer before choosing to stick with a program. Any trainer can talk you into a deal, but until you experience what a session will be like, you won't know what you are signing up for. Its a good idea to try the trainer out and see how you like their style. Don't hesitate to ask questions, this is your time to get to know the person you may be working with!
Keep communication open
Choose a trainer you feel comfortable talking to. There should be open communication regarding your goals, how you're feeling, and if you are getting the results you want. Trainers want you to speak up if you want something to change in your program. We are designing programs for you, but that doesn't mean we aren't human. You should feel comfortable being honest with your trainer about your goals and how you feel about your sessions. A fitness journey isn't perfect, but your trainer is there to encourage you along the way.

With spring having sprung, there is no better cure for a bad day than a walk out in the sun!

In today's world of acai bowls and kale infused muffins (surprisingly tasty), it seems that taking care of yourself means neglecting your wallet. But that doesn't have to be the case! One of the best ways to stay in shape is through walking, and best of all, it's completely free! All you need is a pair of shoes and the willingness to start.
In short, the benefits of walking are many: better physical and mental health, longer lifespan, and completely free. One of my favorite ways to start the day is with a short walk to the beach to watch the waves and, with the weather being better, I'm excited to check out some of the trails in the Santa Barbara mountains!
